Winter Film Awards International Film Festival is New York City -- showcasing the eclectic diversity and excitement of the independent arts world. The Fest celebrates the outstanding work of emerging filmmakers in all genres from around the world, with an emphasis on highlighting underrepresented artists. Works of all lengths are considered for Festival screening, and all genres including narrative Fiction, Documentary, Web Series, Music Videos, Animation, Experimental and Horror.
Emerging filmmakers with low budgets and no connections are so often ignored in favor of the standard big budget generic action films. Exciting low-budget films are created all over the world; we need the opportunity to see them!
The 8th Annual Winter Film Awards International Film Festival runs February 14-23 2019, and includes awesome film screenings, cool discussion panels, career-building professional development workshops and super-fun parties at venues throughout NYC. The event concludes on February 23rd with a glittering awards ceremony and hot red carpet gala at NYC’s premier nightclub. All selected films get an SEO-enhanced page and numerous media opportunities, and all films screen at NYC's premiere indie cinema in the heart of Greenwich Village. We award over $100,000 in cash, prizes and distribution opportunities!
Winter Film Awards is an all-volunteer women and minority-run 501(c)3 organization founded in 2011. We believe everyone deserves a fair shot at getting their voice heard and we have a rigorous blind judging process to ensure a bias-free review. "Our film screened in 7 festivals in 2015/2016 and this festival was by far the best festival we attended when taking in the quality of the venue, the caliber of the films and the attention to the film makers with opportunities for networking. This is a real festival with a real intention to showcase emerging talent and pay homage to independent film" – Kylie Garcelon, director "Moral Compass"
"The wonderful team went above and beyond in making the filmmakers feel right at home during their festival. Cinema Village is a great venue, giving a real NYC art house vibe to the entire event. The selection of films was fantastic. I would highly recommend this festival to all filmmakers." – Matt Sullivan, director "Sobrevivo"
"They treated me and my film with respect, they care about the projection! The staff is incredible nice, funny and open to suggestions from the filmmakers and audience. Winning an award over there brought me a lot of nation-wide press back my country (Mexico). Can't wait to be back there!" -- Ivan Lowenberg, director "La Castracion"
